PLINY. Historiae naturalis liber secundus. Paris, Prigent Calvarin, 1539. In-8, unbound. An extremely rare edition of the second book of Pliny’s *Natural History*. (Moreau, vol. V, no. 1475.) The USTC electronic catalog lists this edition as lost (USTC, no. 182654). Printed by Prigent Calvarin, a Breton printer active in Paris at Clos Bruneau, it is adorned with a lovely woodcut frame on the title page. Several handwritten annotations on folios 12–13, in the same contemporary hand that signed the bookplate on the title page: Rogerius de la Noe. A handwritten bookplate by another hand appears at the end. A handwritten note appears in the margin of folios 32v° and 33r°.
