Pontiac Support-Choc – Art Deco Tonneau Dress Watch – Small Seconds – Anti-Magnetic – 1940s Condition The watch is in excellent preservation. The manual-wind movement winds up smoothly and cleanly. The case shows only minimal age-related signs of wear. The crystal is scratch-free. The dial is very well preserved and shows only a slight, age-related patina. Particularly attractive are the dark blue tempered hands, which are very well preserved. Origin: From a collector Important information: All watches are offered without a reserve price; the final sale price is determined by the highest bid. Each watch is fitted with a new brand battery before sale and tested for at least one week for its function. A guarantee of accuracy, long-term running performance, or water resistance cannot be provided. Notes: Technically, the watch has been tested and operates flawlessly. All photos are unedited and taken with a macro lens to portray the actual condition as honestly and as detailed as possible. The images are part of the description. Description: Characteristic Pontiac Support-Choc hand-wound watch from the Art Deco era, probably from the 1940s. The distinctive tonneau case combines a cream-colored dial with Arabic numerals, classic railway minute track, dark blue tempered hands, and a separate small seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The historic labels “Support-Choc” and “Anti-Magn.” on the dial refer to the technical properties of this early Pontiac generation. With its compact dimensions of about 25 mm without crown and about 35 mm lug-to-lug, the watch has the elegant proportions typical of its era. Features Brand: Pontiac Model/Series: Support-Choc Era: circa 1940s Movement: Mechanical hand-wound Display: Hours, minutes, small seconds Small seconds: at 6 o’clock Dial: presumably silver Hands: Dark blue tempered Special features: Support-Choc / Anti-Magnetic Case shape: Tonneau / Art Deco style Width without crown: approx. 25 mm Lug-to-Lug: approx. 35 mm Case back: Fond Acier Inoxydable (Stainless steel back) Reference/Case number: 1024 Bottom line A Pontiac from roughly 80 years ago in an exceptionally beautiful condition for its age. The well-preserved cream dial, the dark blue tempered hands, the small seconds, and the characteristic tonneau case make it an attractive example of early Pontiac watches. For a watch from the 1940s, this specimen presents itself in a remarkably well-kept and authentic condition.
