In-4, fawn sheepskin, triple gilt fillets, spine decorated with broad gilt fillets, red title label (contemporary binding). Illustrations by Delamonce, engraved in intaglio by Soubeyran and Gallimard, including a frontispiece, 4 figures, 8 headbands, and 7 tailpieces, plus a portrait of the author on the title page engraved by Will after Kneller, and a portrait of Charles-Frédéric, Margrave of Baden and the dedicatee of this edition, engraved on copper by Will after Guillebaud. French translation with the original English text in parallel columns. Water stain at the bottom of the title page, the portrait of the dedicatee, and 2 leaves. Worn binding with scuffs and stains on the covers.
