Inspired by Pierre Soulages’ universe and his exploration of light, this creation explores the meeting between raw material, movement, and shadows. The concrete is sculpted in relief according to an interlacing of lines, curves, and grooves that evoke giant fingerprints, true signatures of the material. The peculiarity of this work lies in its relationship with light. No artificial lighting is necessary to create its visual effects: it is the reliefs of the concrete that catch the natural light and generate their own shadows and contrasts. According to the viewing angle and the time of day, the lines seem to move, the depths intensify, and new reflections appear. The work thus continuously transforms under the spectator’s gaze.
