Inspired by Chinese porcelain, Delft artisans created hand-painted ceramics featuring intricate blue designs on a white background. These tiles, characterized by intricate blue designs on a white background offer a tantalising glimpse into life in Holland during that era. They often depict scenes of daily life, children at play, maritime themes, or floral arrangements.
