These cufflinks know no understatement, they scream red carpet and martini glass. Created in the USA in the 1960s, made from fine diamonds and star sapphires, white gold and platinum, they have such an impressive presence that we had to buy them when we discovered them in Paris. The large, rectangular display sides shine like small movie screens: An untreated, sky-blue star sapphire sits in one corner of each, with diamond-studded rays emanating from it, as if the spotlight itself had been cast in precious stone. A frame of striking, rather large baguette diamonds lends the display sides the effect of a glamorous stage. A total of 76 diamonds weighing around 3.40 ct are set, and the natural, untreated star sapphires, which are cut into round cabochons, weigh in at 7.80 ct. The cufflinks breathe the spirit of the Hollywood Regency: opulent and a little "too much", but in the best possible way. One thinks of sparkling nights in Beverly Hills, of tuxedos and champagne, of Liz Taylor with her legendary jewels. These buttons are anything but quiet companions, they are statement pieces, they are glamor in the most precious materials. A pair for the gentleman who also wants to make his mark in the details. Powerful, elegant and with a charisma that could be straight out of Hollywood's Golden Era. In short: these cufflinks are not an accessory, but a statement. Whoever wears them looks as if they have just landed a leading role - in the best movie of their life.
