Precious Vintage Ring with Fine 4.72 ct Ruby & Diamonds, c. 1950

"The jewellery was a composition of diamonds and rubies and looked as delicate, pure and luxurious as a medieval work of art set in colors. A true magic lay around this intimacy of watery brilliance and rose blush, distributed in the sensuous figures, which can only be taken from the thoughts of our ancestors." (Adalbert Stifter: Der Nachsommer, 1857) Adalbert Stifter already described the fascination that emanates from the combination of shining white diamonds and the rubies that they intensify. This ring from around 1950 shows how timeless this effect is. At its center, the ring presents a large, intensely radiant ruby of rose-red color with a slight violet hue. It is accompanied by small diamonds, whose cool shine is further emphasized by the ring's white gold. The ruby is not only special because of its size - it weighs 4.72 carats. There are very few rubies on the market whose color has not been intensified by heating. This stone, however, is neither fired nor heated, as confirmed by an expert opinion enclosed with the ring. Only a light oiling enhances its already very good purity. The preciousness of the materials also underlines the message: the ruby as the red stone of love and the diamonds as symbols of eternity embody a promise in the form of a jewel. The language of gemstones probably once made this ring a gift of love.
