Philip Guston (American/Canadian, 1913-1980), Untitled, 1966, lithograph, pencil signed and dated lower right, edition 14/25, sheet: 14"h x 21"w, overall (with frame): 24.5"h x 32"w. Provenance: From the collection of Dennis Roberts, a prominent civil rights attorney. Beginning in the early 1960s, Roberts worked alongside legendary Georgia attorney C.B. King. He later served on the defense teams of the Chicago 8 in 1968 and Angela Davis from 1970-1972. Based in Oakland, Roberts was a witness to and participant in the defining legal battles of his generation.
