Problème algébrique GALTIMAN. — PROBLÈME ALGÉBRIQUE. Paris, en vente et dépôt, 7 rue du Croissant, vers 1870. Grande lithographie satirique présentant une série de dix profils successifs aboutissant à Napoléon III, rapprochés d'une créature fantastique portant l'inscription « Hameçon prussien ». Le texte conclut : « Donc la tête de Napoléon III ressemble à une tête de Maquereau? Donc le problème est résolu. » Rare composition fondée sur une transformation graphique et un jeu pseudo-mathématique. Lithographie en noir. Quelques rousseurs, plis et petits accidents marginaux.
