Proferio Grossi (1923-2000) - Natura morta con pappagallo e noci di cocco

Proferio Grossi (1923–2000) – Still Life with Parrot and Coconuts, 1987 Interesting oil painting on rigid support, signed Proferio Grossi and dated 1987, attributed to the Italian painter Proferio Grossi, born in Vignale di Traversetolo (Parma) in 1923 and deceased in 2000. The work depicts a refined still life executed with particular attention to details and the illusionistic effects typical of trompe-l'œil painting. The composition features a colorful parrot in green, yellow, and blue, a woven basket containing plant elements, opened coconuts, bottles of different shapes and colors, old books and other everyday objects. Particularly interesting is the contrast between the vivid colors of the parrot and the bottles and the more sober tones of the background. The precision of the details, the study of light, and the rendering of materials give the composition a notable realistic effect.
