Purple Charoite with Silky Chatoyancy and Contrasting...

First Quality Selection — This lot features a freeform sculpture of notable size, carved from a premium block of Charoite. The specimen, with its organic, sinuous shape, has been masterfully mirror-polished to accentuate the intrinsic complex beauty of this rare mineral, sourced from its unique world locality: the Murun Massif in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia, Russia. The visual impact is dominated by an incredible range of purple hues, ranging from pale lilac to intense lavender, up to deep, almost regal violet tones. These chromatic tones are not uniform but weave into vortices, bands, and fibrous aggregates that create an abstract painterly effect. The most distinctive feature of Charoite is its silky luster, a chatoyancy phenomenon that makes light dance across the surface, giving it a depth and vitality unique to this mineral. This optical effect directly results from its fibrous microcrystalline structure. To further enrich the color composition are inclusions of other associated minerals. Prominently visible are bold black spots and dendrites belonging to aegirine, which create a dramatic and powerful contrast with the violet tones. Upon close inspection, small areas of grayish-white feldspar and, at times, tinaksite crystals with an orange appearance can also be seen, adding further layers of complexity and mineralogical interest. The free-form, sculptural shape of the piece, combined with a perfectly flat base that ensures its stability, makes it a natural work of art. Each face of the piece reveals a new inner landscape, a new perspective on the designs that nature etched into the rock millions of years ago. The workmanship respected the natural contours of the rough block, emphasizing its volume and intrinsic movement. Charoite is a complex silicate whose discovery is relatively recent and whose genesis is linked to a rare metasomatic process. Its extreme rarity, confined to a single deposit, makes it one of the most sought-after mineral gems by collectors worldwide. A specimen of this size and quality represents not only a piece of geological history but also an exceptional decorative element, perfect for enriching a modern Wunderkammer, a professional studio, or a design interior, where its presence catalyzes attention and tells a story of remote Siberian beauty."} } { } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } }
