Peruvian pyrite on a quartz matrix – Large metallic cube – 1,100 g Description : Magnificent natural specimen of pyrite, composed of several metallic cubic crystals on a matrix rich in small white crystals, probably quartz. The piece is dominated by a large bronze-citied cubic crystal at the center, showing nice parallel striations on its faces. Many other pyrite crystals, of varying sizes and shapes, are spread across the matrix. The whole offers a remarkable contrast between the dark golden metal of pyrite and the sparkling white of the matrix. A decorative and mineralogical piece particularly interesting for collectors of sulfides and crystallized minerals. The provenance is suspected to be Peruvian, but not documented by a certificate or origin label.
