Canadian. A carved walking stick from Cookstown, Ontario, masterfully sculpted with narrative panels celebrating local rural life. The highly detailed iconography includes a running hound, a horse-drawn buggy, a plow horse, and a driver in a sulky— a premier nod to Ontario's historic equestrian culture. The shaft pommel is a striking female bust, believed to be Queen Victoria, dressed in period attire with blue glass eyes. Below the pommel is a classic ball-in-cage whimsey with one side incised with the name, "R. Ross" alongside a running dog and the other side incised, "June 15 1896 Cookstown Ont". An intricately carved presentation piece to R. Ross, a member of a prominent pioneering Simcoe County agricultural family. Marked, "R Ross" and "June 1896 Cookstown Ont".
