All auctions / Wine & Spirits / Quinta do Noval, Lágrima Porto - Lágrima - Porto - 4 Bottles
Quinta do Noval Lágrima Porto – Lot of 4 Bottles – Old Presentation Offered here is a homogeneous lot of four bottles of Quinta do Noval Lágrima Porto, produced by Quinta do Noval – Vinhos, S.A., Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Lágrima is a traditional style of white Port, known for its sweeter profile. This lot is particularly interesting for collectors because of the old bottle design, embossed “NOVAL” glass, traditional yellow capsules and original Portuguese guarantee seals. Lot contents: * 4 × Quinta do Noval Lágrima Porto * Wine: Lágrima – Branco – Palha * Producer: Quinta do Noval – Vinhos, S.A. * Origin: Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal * 4 bottles of approximately 75 cl * Traditional dark green Noval bottles with embossed “NOVAL” mark * Original yellow capsules * Original Portuguese guarantee seals * No vintage or bottling year visible on the bottles The four bottles are from the same producer and same Lágrima style, making this a particularly coherent collector’s lot. Condition The bottles have good and consistent fill levels for their age. The glass bottles themselves are in good overall condition, with the characteristic old Noval presentation. The original capsules and Portuguese guarantee seals are present. The labels show significant age-related wear, including: * staining and discoloration * tears and losses to the paper * worn and damaged edges * marks and traces of storage * one of the labels shows particularly pronounced staining and paper loss These imperfections are clearly visible in the photographs. The condition of the labels should therefore be considered part of the character of these old bottles, but collectors should carefully examine all photographs before bidding. All photographs are of the actual bottles offered in this lot and form an integral part of the description. Important information for collectors These are old bottles of Port and their previous storage conditions are unknown. The drinkability and condition of the contents cannot be guaranteed. The bottles are offered primarily as historic/collectible Port bottles. No vintage year is claimed, as no vintage or bottling date is visible on the bottles. The lot consists exclusively of the four bottles shown in the photographs. Shipping The bottles will be carefully packed using appropriate protective materials for wine bottles. Due to their age and the importance of avoiding breakage during transportation, the bottles will be packed with reinforced protection.
