A superb illustrated edition with 80 color illustrations and watercolors by François Castellan, bound in serpentine-printed bindings, of this complete guide devoted to hunting dogs, addressing both their classification, physical characteristics, and specific aptitudes according to the types of hunting practiced. It presents a detailed description of the different breeds of dogs, such as flushing dogs, scent hounds, retrievers and terriers, highlighting their olfactory abilities, endurance, intelligence, and adaptability to diverse terrains and game. The work places great importance on the education and training of dogs, setting forth practical methods to develop their obedience, discipline, and effectiveness in the field, while stressing the trust-based relationship between the master and the animal.
