At the top of the dial sits the applied Rado rotating anchor logo on a purple background. Minor dust particles are visible under macro inspection. The original gold-tone dauphine hands, complete with a sweep center seconds hand, show age-appropriate oxidation and spotting on their surfaces, which contrasts slightly with the cleaner dial. Case and Crystal The 36 mm gold-tone case displays honest wear consistent with its age, showing moderate scratches, scuffs, and typical plating degradation on high-contact edges. Visible plating wear and tarnishing are present on the lug edges and case flanks. The integrated gold-tone smooth bezel shows scratches, minor dings, and some plating wear on the outer edge. The stainless steel caseback features clear engravings. The signed Rado crown, bearing the 'R' logo, also shows visible plating wear on its knurled edges and face. The domed acrylic crystal exhibits light surface scratches and minor crazing visible under angled light, while maintaining clear visibility of the dial beneath. Movement Powering the watch is a 30-jewel automatic movement, caliber 1700/01. The movement presents a clean overall visual appearance with no obvious corrosion, featuring silver-tone base plates and a gold-tone rotor decorated with Rado branding and the anchor logo. Clear engravings read Rado, 30 Jewels, Swiss, and 1700/01. The timegrapher records a rate of -30-33s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. Strap The watch is fitted with a complementary modern brown leather strap with contrast stitching. It appears lightly used with minimal creasing and is secured by an unsigned gold-tone buckle, presenting in excellent condition. Condition Good vintage condition. The gold-tone case and integrated bezel display honest age-related wear, including moderate scratches and visible plating degradation on the flanks, lug edges, and crown. The dial remains highly attractive and well-preserved, while the original hands show visible oxidation. The domed acrylic crystal has minor crazing and light scratches. Supported by the recorded timegrapher results, the movement is performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. Dimensions The case measures 36 mm in diameter, excluding the crown. Remarks This Golden Horse offers a wonderful opportunity to acquire a foundational Rado model with highly desirable dial features. The well-preserved sunburst finish and the signature rotating anchor logo ensure a distinct and appealing presence on the wrist. It established a design language that would define the brand for decades, notably becoming one of the first Rado models to feature the signature rotating anchor logo on the dial. The Golden Horse remains a sought-after vintage Rado design, appreciated by collectors for its distinctive applied logos and classic mid-century styling.
