Rahway, New Jersey. $5 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 609. Citizens NB. Charter #12828. PMG Very Fine 25 EPQ. A surprisingly tough charter despite a population of 30 pieces recorded by the National Bank Note Census. This evenly circulated $5 Plain Back issued by the Citizens National Bank of Rahway (Charter# 12828) during the 1920s is certainly a lovely note for the grade assigned. Here one may observe solid signatures attributable to Cashier A.J. Chapin and President Paris Ralph Forman alongside signs of even technical circulation that warranted a numerical grade of "25." To that end, this note also offers a level of originality seldom encountered for the grade level that effortlessly speaks to the application of the EPQ designation for "Exceptional Paper Quality" by PMG.
