Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A red-figure bell krater with a flared foot, short stem, deep body, and broad everted rim, with upturned handles set below the lip. The rim is decorated with a laurel band, and the figured panels are framed by palmettes and scrolling tendrils, with a wave band below. Side A depicts an erotic scene with a reclining male on a couch and a seated female figure beside him. Side B depicts three ephebi in conversation, each wrapped in a himation. Size: 390mm x 345mm; Weight: 3.3kg Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in France (early 2000s); previously in a Swiss private collection formed during the 1980s�1990s.
