Rare Napoléon III-era pocket jewelry box, late 19th century. A refined testament to French haute tabletterie, this somewhat uncommon model stands out for its double opening, equipped with two independent lids in thick beveled mirror glass mounted on a worked gilt-brass frame. The body of the box is covered with a magnificent sky-blue enamel (hot enamel on metal), richly decorated around its entire circumference with geometric and floral motifs in red, white and dark blue tones, recalling the delicate style of the Bressan enamels. The interior remains entirely original, revealing a superb tufted lining in bright red silk, buttoned, perfect for holding small precious jewelry (rings, earrings) or pocket secrets.
