Rare German Black Forest mahogany table cuckoo clock by Johann Baptist Beha, circa 1865, with a 5.5" enamel white Roman numeral dial with outer minute track, blued spade hands, upon a painted oil panel by Carl Heine, Neustadt, depicting a hunter with his hound with a fox caught in a trap, within a gilded mount, eight day wood plate twinn fusee movement, the hour strike train with outside countwheel and linkages to two bellows and a cuckoo automaton which appears from behind the door above the dial to announce the hour with a two-note call alternating with a hammer sounding on a gong fitted to the inside of the rear case panel, in a fine quality foliate marquetry arched top case with two side doors upon an ogee marquetry base, 19" high, 12.5" wide, depth 8.25" (with pendulum and key) ** The George Hollis Collection ** For reference see Justin.
