Original Italian industrial porcelain enamel warning sign dating from approximately the 1950s, featuring the iconic skull and crossbones motif together with the dramatic warning "NON TOCCARE I FILI – PERICOLO DI MORTE" ("Do Not Touch the Wires – Danger of Death"). Manufactured in heavy embossed steel with kiln-fired porcelain enamel, this sign represents the highest quality of industrial safety signage produced before the introduction of modern reflective and plastic warning panels. The raised lettering and central skull create an exceptionally striking three-dimensional appearance. Originally installed in electrical substations, power plants, industrial factories, railway facilities or other high-voltage environments, these signs were designed to withstand decades of outdoor exposure thanks to the durability of vitreous enamel. Today they are highly sought after by collectors of Industrial Design, Industrial Heritage, Automobilia and vintage factory memorabilia, while also making impressive decorative pieces for loft interiors, workshops, galleries and industrial-style spaces. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The enamel retains a deep glossy finish with bright original colours. Minor edge wear, light surface marks and traces of age are consistent with decades of authentic industrial use and add to its originality. No significant enamel losses or structural damage. Approximate dimensions: 17 × 12 cm Material: Embossed steel Kiln-fired porcelain enamel A genuine and increasingly collectible Italian industrial safety sign with exceptional decorative impact.
