early 19th century, the inlaid cove-molded cornice over a frieze outlined in barber-pole and acanthus-leaf inlay and centered with a later inlaid cipher, "WRS", for Walter R. Stauffer of New Orleans, with a pair of flush-panel doors opening to an interior with a pair of long shelves above a belt of three drawers, and fitted with a rare lower long drawer, raised on slender cabriole legs.
