RARE LUCENT CELESTINA with YELLOW SULFUR

From our selection of collectible minerals, we present a rare group of Celestine crystals with sulfur from the Floristella Mine, Sicily. Moreover, it features white, translucent Celestine crystals, with an elongated, lustrous habit, in splendid color contrast with the bright yellow sulfur nodules coating the base, elements that enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with characteristics that highlight its natural structure and visual impact. Celestine derives its name from the blue-the sky color it sometimes assumes, linked to trace impurities in the crystal lattice, though it can appear colorless or white as in this specimen; chemically it is strontium sulfate (SrSO4). The Floristella mine, in the province of Enna, has been for over a century one of the main sulfur extraction sites in Sicily, a deposit formed in the Miocene by evaporation of ancient marine basins: in these sulfur-bearing deposits Celestine is often found in direct association with native sulfur. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also within crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always indicated in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best showcase colors and details; however, slight color variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
