Rare May 30, 1883 Philadelphia Phillies inaugural season scorecard vs. Chicago White Stockings - one of the earliest known. Rare and desirable scorecard issued for a Phillies vs. White Stockings game which was played on May 30th at Recreation Park. It was the second game of a double-header and Chicago won both scoring a combined (37) runs on the day. A review of the pre-printed lineups show that Hall of Famers King Kelly and Cap Anson helped power the vastly superior White Stocking to victory. It was the 19th game played in Philadelphia's inaugural season and thus this scorecard ranks among the earliest to have ever surfaced. This is particularly noteworthy given their standing as the oldest continuously operating same-name, same-city franchise in all of North American professional sports. Outstanding overall condition with just a hint of light natural handling wear and there are no flaws worthy of mention: EX-EX/MT
