Scientific name: Bolma rugosa (also known as the Rough star snail). Special feature: With operculum (The calcareous, brightly orange-red shell lid – in the Mediterranean also known as the ‘Eye of Shiva’ – is available separately and completes the collectible). Quality grade: F++ (Excellent cabinet condition with minimal, natural growth lines, but without significant damage to the spines or the aperture). Size: 48 mm (A stately and well-formed size for this Mediterranean species). Origin: Mediterranean (Common locations are along the rocky coasts of Italy, Croatia, or southern France). Habitat: Shallow waters to algal zones (The species lives on rocky substrates and in seagrass beds at depths from about 2 to ca. 50 meters, where it feeds on algae). SKU Oberdiek Bolma rugosa m.O. 50
