It is presented to Ray Conniff, which is a rare find. It is also a nice feature that in this period the record discs found in BPI awards were an actual mother disc of the record being recognized, unlike almost all RIAA awards. This can be seen in this case because the track bands match the original record and also the record's catalog number 66011 can be seen engraved in the dead wax area of the mother disc in this award. The award is in VG condition, especially for its' age. It has been reframed in a brushed metal frame which is a close replica of the original BPI silver award frame. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece. As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description. Finally, a word on photos: Do let us know if you want photos of any other details on our pieces and we'll be happy to provide. *BPI sales data source: bpi.co.uk BPI Silver Album award In VG conditio Award dated 1974 Presented to Ray Conniff All original internals reframed Award measures approx. 16.5" x 21" Rare collectors item for any Ray Conniff fa FREE insured shipping to U.S. and Canada International shipping available
