Raymond CAUCHETIER (1920–2021), Breathless, Jean-Luc Godard. The bathroom

Contemporary inkjet print, Ultrachrome inks on Hahnemühle baryta paper, Picto laboratory. Dimensions: 35.4 x 27.2 in A photograph was missing to complete this vintage spread. Miraculously, Kaoru Cauchetier tracked down the missing shot, which Raymond had cropped for his photo-novel montage. This shot stands out for its originality: taken off-camera for many of these scenes, it shows Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg laughing together, lending the entire spread a rare sense of spontaneity and camaraderie.
