Raymond CAUCHETIER (1920–2021), Breathless, Jean-Luc Godard. The shop

Vintage silver print, taken in late 1959, signed in pencil and numbered “100 11” (negative number), with ‘Copyright’ and title stamps on the reverse. Dimensions: 9.1 x 7.1 in The first drugstore on the Champs-Élysées was situated at 133 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, and opened on 16 October 1958 on the site of the former Hôtel Astoria. The building was destroyed by fire in 1972, then rebuilt between 1973 and 1975. It was Europe’s first true drugstore.
