Red Bluff, California. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 628. The Red Bluff NB. Charter #10114. PMG Very Fine 20. Situated along the highest navigable point of the Sacramento River in Tehama County just off of Interstate 5 in the present. The city of Red Bluff sits roughly an hour away from Mount Lassen best known for its 1915 eruption which was one of only two eruptions in the entire contiguous United States during the Twentieth Century along with Mount St. Helens in 1980, but in numismatic terms, Red Bluff is a tough prospect for numismatic material. As a result, National Bank Notes from here are as rare as one would expect of the region. Served only by the Red Bluff National Bank (Charter# 10114) from 1911 to 1928, this lot is one of only 11 pieces recorded in the National Bank Note Census and is also plated in Paper Dreams in the Golden State by Dennis Hengeveld. PMG comments "Stains Lightened." Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Provenance: Ex. Eric Agnew Collection; Hengeveld Plate Note. Click here for certification details from PMG.
