Refined ring - Cobra - Cultured pearl - Ancestral...

Refined ring - Cobra - Cultured pearl - Ancestral - Evocative of purity and preciousness. A refined and singular ring, remarkable for its abundant material work and its contrast. The band takes the form of a serpent, notably a cobra, whose body elegantly coils around the central pearl as if to protect it. The work is particularly decorative: the entire surface of the serpent features a fine relief imitating scales, giving the jewel a lot of texture and depth. A singular ring, richly worked, whose composition stages two cobra heads facing each other around a cultured pearl. The two cobras are finely chiselled, giving relief to their heads, jaws slightly open and scales meticulously crafted, giving them a striking presence. The decoration continues along the band with a textured motif recalling the scaly body of the serpent, contrasting with the smooth, polished inner parts. At the center, the two cobras seem to watch over a pearlescent cultured pearl, held between their heads. Of a white hue with soft nacreous reflections, the pearl brings luminosity and delicacy to the whole and creates an elegant contrast with the warm shine of the gold metal. This composition can be interpreted as two guardians protecting a treasure. The symbolic power of the cobra thus joins with the pearl, traditionally evoking purity, preciousness and light. The whole forms a ring with a sculptural and expressive silhouette, blending ancestral symbolism, animal inspiration and elegance. To know, The serpent is one of the oldest and most universal symbols in the history of religion. Present in many civilizations, it has a rich and sometimes ambivalent meaning, associated according to traditions with protection, knowledge, transformation, healing, power and renewal, notably due to its ability to shed its skin. In ancient Egypt, the cobra holds a particularly important place. In the form of the uraeus, it is associated with divine protection, sovereignty and royal power, appearing especially on the crowns of the pharaohs. In the traditions of India, Hinduism and Buddhism, snakes or Nāgas are symbolic beings linked to water, fertility, protection and spiritual forces. In Buddhist iconography, the king nāga Mucalinda is notably depicted protecting the Buddha during his meditation. In Biblical and Christian tradition, the serpent carries a double symbolism: associated with temptation in Genesis, it also appears as a symbol of healing with the bronze serpent of Moses. On this ring, the symmetrical arrangement of the two cobras surrounding the pearl particularly reinforces the image of protecting a precious element, like two guardians watching over a treasure.
