This action is a forceful denunciation of gender violence and crimes committed against women in Guatemala, where the bodies of tortured women have been found marked with inscriptions made with knives or razors. The work was presented at the Prometeo Gallery di Ida Pisani, Milan, Italy, in 2005. “Perra” uses the artist’s body as a means of protest and illuminating the brutality inflicted on women, transforming physical pain into a powerful symbol of social and political protest.
