Religious frame – Kneeling Christ - Antique - Plaster, Copper, Wood - 1750-1800

Germany from a private collection formerly of a wealthy family with title and now from my private collection • The kneeling figure of Jesus Christ made of plaster • A kneeling figure of Christ with drops of blood/wounds across the body, leaning against a rocky or earthly background, characteristic of devotional art from the 18th century. • Frame: An opulently decorated hand-forged copper frame (gilt / gilded copper) with rocaille or baroque motifs, floral accents and scrolls. Enamelled with at the bottom the family coat of arms; inside the piece a woven silk curtain with relics incorporated • Dating/Origin: European, Southern German, religious home altar cabinet piece from the 18th century; on the back of the piece an old parchment/document written in the old Romance language with various words such as Peter king suffering, etc... a real piece of history from this period to be sent by registered mail and insured with DHL
