Reliquary - Silver - 1750-1800 - Croix de Caravaca - 18th century

Great Caravaca reliquary cross in silver, of Spanish or Hispano-colonial origin - 18th century Beautiful cross with a double traverse, richly worked and adorned on the obverse with a crucified Christ surmounted by the titulus INRI. The lower part features a representation of the Virgin, framed by two winged angels in strong relief. The crossbars and the lower part include several small diamond-shaped reliquary compartments (no relics present). The reverse is also entirely decorated with religious scenes and figures in relief, bearing witness to the rich iconography of this devotional cross. The whole is finely chiseled and engraved with geometric motifs, with twisted borders. An antique articulated bail allowing its suspension. Presence of ancient hallmarks on the reverse, now partially erased and not allowing a definite attribution to a specific goldsmith. They allow you to assess its condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any bidding.
