Remarkable talisman figure from Sumba - sumba - Indonesia (No reserve price)

Offering here a beautiful ceramic figure from Sumba, East Indonesia. The figure has a very attractive, well-developed patina, giving it a strong sense of age and character. It was most probably used as a talisman or protective object, although its exact original function is unknown. The simple modelling and expressive form give the piece a particularly appealing presence. A charming and unusual example of traditional Sumbanese material culture, interesting for collectors of Indonesian tribal art and ethnographic objects.
