All auctions / Ancient Art / Replica of an Ancient Greek Ceramic Oinochoe - 30 cm

I propose a particular decorated ceramic oinochoe, made in the style of ancient Greek black-figure pottery. The vase features a distinctive pear-shaped form, with a narrow neck, trilobed mouth, and a large vertical handle. The polychrome decoration depicts figures inspired by Greek art, including a figure in Warrior attire/armor, accompanied by vegetal and ornamental motifs. The surface presents a patina and a marked lived-in effect, with numerous abrasions, losses and wear of the decoration, particularly evident on the body and the handle. Such characteristics are visible in the photographs and are part of the object's conservation status. The piece is offered as a decorative reproduction inspired by classical themes, without attribution to an ancient archaeological find. I do not possess documentation relating to the period, the author or the manufacture, therefore such elements remain to be determined. An object particularly suitable for collectors of decorative ceramics, classical art and archaeological reproductions, or as a historical and museum-like furnishing element. Conditions: as per photographs, with evident signs of time and of the decoration. Material: ceramic/terracotta decorated. Provenance: not documented. Era and manufacture: not determined.
