Abundant black-and-white and color photographic illustrations. Album published to mark World Press Freedom Day, featuring one hundred photographs taken during the year 1994. The images document, among other places, South Africa at the time of Nelson Mandela’s election, Northern Ireland, the Middle East, Cuba, Bosnia, Rwanda, Haiti, and Algeria. Numerous photographers and agencies are represented, including Henri Cartier-Bresson, René Burri, Gilles Caron, Raymond Depardon, Robert Doisneau, Martine Franck, William Klein, Josef Koudelka, Annie Leibovitz, Susan Meiselas, Marc Riboud, Patrick Zachmann, Luc Delahaye, Françoise Demulder, Georges Mérillon, James Nachtwey, and others. An interesting glimpse into international photojournalism of the 1990s and the early days of the famous series of albums published to benefit Reporters Without Borders. Condition: generally good; slight scuffing and signs of wear on the cover. Interior is clean.
