Rexite Milano – Posacenere da Terra Mod

Milano, 1980s. In the thick of the postmodern design ferment and the "Milano da bere" boom, the firm Barbieri & Marianelli Architetti collaborates with Rexite Milano to challenge the banality of everyday furnishing objects. Until then, the floor ashtray was considered only a functional element, often hidden in the gray corners of corridors. With the Intervallo 1060 model, Raul Barbieri and Giorgio Marianelli completely overturn this concept. They transform a service object into a genuine geometric and sleek sculpture. It is not a simple accessory, but a fragment of Milanese design history that has redefined the aesthetics of workspaces, prestigious offices, and the most elegant waiting areas in Europe. In modern antiques auctions, it is the designer details that determine the price. This ashtray represents the ultimate expression of functional minimalism "Made in Italy". This specific model is not merely a functional object, but a collectible piece awarded the famous SMAU Industrial Design Prize for its incredible innovation in forms and industrial materials. Owning a Rexite piece of this caliber means displaying a work certified by the greatest critics in the field. The chromatic and material contrast is stunning. The upper head is a mirror-polished chromed cylinder that captures the surrounding light. The slender stem connects to the solid black matte circular base, heavy and stable, which bears the brand imprint raised on the bottom to guarantee absolute authenticity. Made with premium materials typical of Milanese production in the second half of the 20th century, designed to endure while preserving its Space Age / Postmodern charm.
