Rare Richard Ginori Table Service Mondovì - Linea "Paola" ", Decoro "Anemoni" - Prestigious Ceramics Entirely Hand-Painted - Complete for 12 People - 41 Pieces (50s/60s) In auction an extraordinary, complete and lively vintage dining service signed by the historic Italian manufactory Richard Ginori Mondovì, dating from the mid-20th century (circa 1950s/60s). The service belongs to the famous "Paola" line and showcases the iconic and highly sought-after floral motif "Anemoni". Each single piece is a unique ceramic work of art: the floral motif is entirely executed and hand-painted underglaze, characterized by a magnificent chromatic brilliance in cobalt blue, deep strawberry red, and ochre tones. The design echoes the unmistakable stylistic imprint and the joie de vivre introduced into the manufactory by Gio Ponti. Finding a lot so numerous, complete for a full 12 place settings and enriched with exceptional coordinating serving pieces, represents an absolute rarity on the modern design and collecting market. Complete composition of the service (41 total pieces): • 12 flat plates 23.5 x 3 • 12 pasta/soup plates 22 x 5 • 12 dessert/fruit plates 21 x 2 • 2 oil bottles (extremely rare, complete with their movable coordinating caps) • 1 jug / carafe (very scenographic, also splendid as a decorative piece) • 1 small sauce-boat plate (oval small shape) 22 x 15 • 1 large tray/serving plate 35 x 24 The service is presented in overall excellent aesthetic condition. As visible in the images, the original glaze brilliance remains intact and the colors are vivid, testified by a set kept with great care over the years. Being authentic period stoneware, the pieces show the classic elegant signs of time that certify its antiquity: • Natural crazing: The surface of several elements exhibits the typical, fascinating subglaze spider-web craquelure (cavillatura), a physiological phenomenon for old and aged ceramic that enhances its vintage charm. • Signs of use: The vast majority of the 41 pieces are intact and defect-free. For maximum transparency to collectors, only very mild wear is noted concentrated on the lower bottom (the resting base, thus not visible when the plate is placed on the table) on just 3 or 4 pieces. There is also a slight and small chip on the spout of the jug and a fine era crack on a single small plate. None of these details detracts from the splendid aesthetic impact of the set during mise en place. Please carefully view the rich attached photo gallery, which shows the original marks on the bottom and constitutes an integral part of the description. Professional shipping with express courier. Each piece will be individually wrapped with bubble wrap and reinforced protective materials inside specific fragile-commodities boxes.
