Robert Capa (1913–1954), cofounder of Magnum Photos and one of the most influential war photographers of the 20th century, portrayed the arrival of new immigrants to Israel in 1948, in the midst of the Arab-Israeli war — one of the five major conflicts he covered throughout his career, alongside the Spanish Civil War and World War II. Silver gelatin print, edition of 5 copies, printed in 2018 from the original 1948 negative. Photographer's stamp on the reverse. Condition: EBC. 30 x 24 cm. The photographic legacy of Capa is preserved at the International Center of Photography in New York, and his work has been published in numerous books and international exhibitions.
