Oil painting on panel by Roberto Scognamiglio depicting a Venetian Carnival scene Fantastic oil painting on panel by the master Roberto Scognamiglio (Italy, 1883–1965), depicting an elegant Venetian carnival scene animated by figures in 18th-century costumes. At the center of the composition stand ladies and gentlemen engaged in conversation, while on the left emerges the distinctive figure of Harlequin in the traditional multicolored costume. In the background, a crowd of masked figures helps to create a lively and festive atmosphere, rendered with a loose brushwork rich in movement. The work stands out for its brilliant chromatic harmony, with delicate pink, blue, and golden tones alternating with the contrasts of the backlit figures, giving depth and dynamism to the scene. The composition fully expresses the master's style, characterized by spontaneous and expressive painting, capable of evoking the charm and elegance of Venetian festivities of times past. The painting is enhanced by a richly shaped gilded wood frame, which completes its decorative importance and makes it ideal for both collectors and classic, elegant interiors.
