ROLEX, SWITZERLAND, REF. 116505, COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA, BLACK DIAL WITH PINK SUBDIALS, 18K PINK GOLD A fine and attractive, 18k pink gold, self winding chronograph wristwatch Brand: Rolex, switzerland Model: Cosmograph Daytona Reference: 116505 Year: circa 2010 Case: G018833 Caliber: 4130, 44 jewels Bracelet: 18k pink gold Rolex bracelet with deployant clasp Diameter: 39 Signature: dial, case and movement Grading System: AA (Very good) Case: 2 (Very good) Dial: 1-01 (As new , HANDS Original) Movement: 2* (Very good , Overhaul recommended, at buyer's expense) EUR: 22,000 - 30,800 HKD: 198,000 - 276,000 CHF: 20,800 - 29,100 JPY: 3,950,000 - 5,530,000 Warm pink gold and a deep black dial give this reference 116505 one of the most compelling contrasts found among the precious-metal Daytonas of its generation. The dark surface brings particular depth to the watch, while the three pink gold-toned subsidiary registers echo the case and bracelet, creating a rich yet remarkably coherent composition. The dial remains unmistakably functional despite this more luxurious execution. Applied hour markers and hands stand sharply against the black background, while the three registers preserve the balanced layout of the Cosmograph. Surrounding them, the engraved 18K pink gold tachymeter bezel catches the light differently from the dial, visually linking the case to the full gold Oyster bracelet. Beneath this distinctive exterior is Rolex’s calibre 4130, an integrated self-winding chronograph movement combining a column wheel and vertical clutch. Its architecture was developed specifically for the Daytona and designed around efficiency, reliability and precise chronograph operation. The full 18K pink gold Oyster bracelet is fundamental to the character of this example, extending the warmth and weight of the precious metal across the entire watch. Dating from circa 2010, the present 116505 captures a particularly elegant period of the Daytona, before ceramic bezels became dominant within the collection, combining the purity of an engraved gold bezel with the dramatic contrast of black and pink gold.
