ummus (or reduced follis) in bronze of the Roman Empire, dating to the 4th century AD (circa 324–330 ​Obverse (Front) ​Description: Bust of the emperor facing to the right, with a pearl diadem on his head. ​Legend: The inscription reads CONSTANTINVS AVG (Constantine the Augustus). This is Emperor Constantine I the Great. ​Reverse (Back) ​Description: Depicts the gate of a military camp (campgate) with two turrets on the top and a star in the center at the top. ​Legend: Reads PROVIDENTIAE AVGG (dedicated to the Providentia of the Augusti). ​Exergue (bottom): Indicates the mint of issue, in this case SMTS which corresponds to the Thessalonica Mint (Sacra Moneta Thessalonicensis).
