ROMAN GLASS AFRICAN HEAD IN SILVER RING

Ca. AD 1 - 300. A green glass head in the form of an African, modelled with tightly curled hair, recessed eyes, a broad nose and full lips. Mounted in a possibly later silver ring, the head is pierced transversely and turns on a pin held between looped terminals of a slender D-section hoop.
