Ca. AD 200 - 300. A marble head of Eros with a youthful, rounded face and slightly parted lips. The hair is arranged in thick curling locks around the forehead and temples, with larger clustered curls and knotted sections. Accompanied by a modern custom-made display stand. For similar see: Louvre Museum, Ma 562 (MR 122). Size: 180mm x 140mm; Weight: 3kg Provenance: From a private UK collection; acquired on the Swiss art market, 1990's. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
