ROMAN SILVER DENARIUS OF TIBERIUS 'TRIBUTE PENNY' IN GOLD PENDANT

Ca. AD 14 - 37. A silver denarius of Tiberius, known as the 'Tribute Penny', with the laureate head of the emperor in profile to the right on the obverse, surrounded by the inscription TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS. The reverse depicts Livia, personifying Pax, seated to the right on a throne with ornamented legs, holding an olive branch in her left hand and a long sceptre in her right, with the inscription PONTIF MAXIM. The coin is set in a hallmarked 18K gold pendant within a circular swivel mount, pivoting between knop terminals inside an open outer frame with a broad tapered suspension bail.
