Dacia, Koson – Gold Stater, circa 44–42 BC – NGC Choice MS, 5/5–5/5 Ancient gold stater of the Koson type, attributed to the Geto-Dacians. A beautifully struck and well-centred example, with complete beaded borders on both sides. Specifications Metal: Gold Denomination: Stater Date: Circa 44–42 BC Mint: Uncertain, attributed to Dacia Weight: 8.33 g Diameter: 20 mm NGC grading: Choice MS; Strike 5/5, Surface 5/5 Obverse: Roman consul accompanied by two lictors carrying fasces. BA monogram in the field and the Greek inscription ΚΟΣΩΝ in the exergue. Reverse: Eagle standing left on a sceptre, holding a wreath. The designs reflect the influence of Roman Republican coinage, combining a ceremonial procession with the distinctive eagle motif. Condition: NGC Choice Mint State, with the highest numerical scores for both strike and surface. Superb striking, attractive centring and fully visible beaded borders.
