Roscommon Regiment Waist Belt Plate, with Officer’s Coatee and Tunic Buttons A very good and scarce early unmarked silvered example with a double circlet to the centre, the outer circlet inscribed ‘Roscommon Regiment’, centred with a Harp and the Maid of Erin above ‘93’ ; with an Officer’s silver plated example Tunic Button, with a Victorian crown surmounting a centred Harp above ‘Roscommon Regt’, with a rose, thistle and shamrock garland to the rimmed edge below, the reverse with its loop fixing and maker’s marks ‘Firmin & Sons, 153 Strand and 15 Conduit St., London’; with a smaller Officer’s example Coatee Button of a similar design, save lacking a rim to the edge and a gap to the lower centre of the garland with the numerals ‘93’, the reverse with a loop fixing and maker’s marks ‘Clancy Dublin’, some frosting lacking in places, very good condition and scarce (3) £240-£280.
