Elegant intaglio made from natural pink quartz from Madagascar, worked in a vertical shape with a flat base, faceted body and pointed termination. The sample weighs 1107 grams and presents a delicate light pink shade, distributed softly and naturally throughout the entire volume. The surface has been carefully ground and polished, allowing light to penetrate the stone and highlight the internal structure of the quartz. Inside, milky veils, thin natural fractures, more translucent zones and light color variations are visible, giving depth to the material. In some areas light produces more intense reflections and small light effects, while other areas appear more compact and opalescent. The geometric craftsmanship particularly enhances these features. The longitudinal surfaces create different planes of reflection, while the upper part is modeled with a faceted termination that gives the object a slim and harmonious silhouette. Pink quartz is a macrocrystalline variety of quartz, primarily composed of silicon dioxide, SiO₂. Its pink coloration is linked to microscopic inclusions and structural defects within the crystal lattice. Madagascar is one of the best-known localities for the production of pink quartz of good quality, often appreciated for its delicate tones and good translucency. The small inclusions, internal lines, and slight surface variations are natural characteristics of the material and make every piece unique. A decorative specimen of great presence, suitable for both a mineral collection and as a display element in contemporary environments, studies, libraries, or Wunderkammer. Mineral: Pink quartz Composition: SiO₂ Provenance: Madagascar Fabrication: ground and polished, pointed form Weight: 1107 g
