Wine glass decorated from the series “Die Zauberflöte” (The Magic Flute) Rosenthal Studio-Line — creation Bjørn Wiinblad Manufacturer Rosenthal, Germany Collection Studio-Line Creator / Designer Bjørn Wiinblad (1918–2006) Danish artist, illustrator and decorator, particularly known for his whimsical designs inspired by music, theatre and fairy tales. He collaborated closely with Rosenthal for several decades and left a strong mark on the Studio-Line. Rosenthal +1 Collection Die Zauberflöte — The Magic Flute Collection designed by Bjørn Wiinblad around Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte. The Rosenthal Zauberflöte collection was introduced in the late 1960s — Rosenthal cites 1969 in its historical presentation, while some brand references indicate 1968 for the launch of the series. Inscription Your glass bears notably: « Erster Akt – Szene 1 – Tamino: Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön » That is, in French: « Premier acte – scène 1 – Tamino : Cette image est merveilleusement belle. » This is the famous aria sung by Tamino at the beginning of Mozart’s The Magic Flute.
