Diamonds typically form octahedral crystals, often with curved and striated faces. Other observed shapes are tetrahedron, dodecahedron, and cube. Diamond is optically isotropic with high refractive index and high dispersion. It exhibits fluorescence and phosphorescence and is triboelectric.
